The Northern Star

He stares each night at the Northern Star

Does she stare at it too?

He hopes it will guide her home again

His love, His one, His sweetheart true

She makes her way home by the Northern Star

Back to the arms of her lover

She’s tired and sore from another long day

Back towards her one true lover

They’re guided by the Northern Star

It takes them back to each other

No matter how far they are apart

They know the Star will guide them forever

Lonely he is without her

Sad she is without him

The star crossed lovers

They look to the Northern Star

When they cannot be together

They know they must be apart

They keep the Northern Star in their gaze

And forever in their heart

Really like this poem.......

As a northern lad I often look to the northern stars and dream of many things.

I really like the image of the same star being gazed upon by the lovers both wishing the same wish.

Read this poem again because I like it so much Snow.

A thought occured to me, didn't sailors in the olden days use the northern star as a reference point to guide them home?

Maybe the stars are guiding your lovers back to each other...
