My blood is cold
but the fear in my heart
it burns so hot
I'm still alive
but you are not.
You're here to take my soul
I'll live forever
is what I thought.
We get to live a life
but death is the toll.
You beckon me
with a chilling call.
I can't go yet
I don't want to miss this all
why, oh why can't I stay?
should I get on my knees and pray?
Silence
is what death says
you haven't lived
you raised a life of fear
stop running
It's time to let go.
Forget what you hold dear
now come with me,
be strong,
this isn't the time to shed another tear.

I want to stay
there is more to learn
more memories to make
and laughs to be had.
These people I love
I can't leave them behind
they're all I know
and there are others to find.
You're a fool
For I, Death,
you cannot betray
find your peace now
or be left in the twilight,
confused and astray.
I know it's my time
but what lies ahead,
is there more life
after I'm dead?
Death peers to me
this is what he said:
You'll never know
until you take that next step,
you'll never learn
if you always wish to forget
and you cannot live
with a heart full of regret.
