On A Mission: To Kill A Vampire

Poetry By: sosnh

The first "On A Mission". In this series of poems, I plan to have people defeat creatures that are from mythology, the first being of how a women copes with the fact that she has killed a vampire.

Like the light shines in on your bedroom every morning,

The stake flails upon entering his heart,

The vampire is dead, laid in his bed,

The morning approaches,

And the dust begins to rise,

Your mission is complete,

But you refuse to die,

You sit on an old crate,

And think about old Dave,

Your darling husband up in heaven,

Who only rated you a 7,

Needs you now,

You lay on the cold hard floor,

And await your fate,

An almightly force beckons you up,

With a subtle urge,

You look up,

In the clouds,

Here and now,

You are next to your husband,

Your one and only,

And now you think to yourself,

I wish I didn't kill that vampire.

The Poem is a story about a women sent down from heaven, with her mission brief being that she was to kill a notorious and evil vampire. Upon killing this man, she knows her time has come to return to the afterlife. She dispises her husband, as he had been an atrocious alcoholic when he was alive, but after re-entering heaven, she wants to go back down to earth, and to escape both God and her husband.

Q: What did you guys think?
