Just a tiny, little heart

Poetry By: soulcandygal

On one of the many nights that sleep didn't come to me, the lines of this short poem helped me to stop feeling bad. Those feelings come back time and again, but when they do, I'll simply arm myself with these... :)

Just a tiny, little heart.

Away in a dark corner
A tiny heart cries
Tiny, I say, because
It's only one of the
Many millions in the world.

A tiny heart cries
Wishing certain things
And not wishing certain other things
Like wilting petals and dying leaves
Of a sad little plant.

A tiny heart gropes
Flailing about in the darkness,
Hoping for something to hold on
Save itself from drowning
A tiny heart hopes.

A tiny heart hopes
Peeking quietly from the shadows-
In search of understanding eyes
And an accepting soul,
This tiny heart blooms in the darkness.
