Trapped & Locked Away

Poetry By: SoulShadowWalker
Poetry

I researched mental illnesses for a school essay and found myself to be similar to the people who were dubbed mentally unstable. Not in the sense that I am not sane.. the fact that I have nearly the same mindset as those who are "mental" Maybe I am. I read somewhere before that a key factor to knowing that you are insane is admitting to it. and if that is true, I among the insane. and frankly I think I enjoy it.

Locked Away

Locked away

Light shielded from my eyes

Lived to plead and pray

Learned to give up and die

Fake smiles

Fake laughs

Fake conversations

Fake friends

Mindset:

the end

Reality:

I'm already dead

A walking corpse

The light missing from my eyes

I've learned the ropes

I've perfected my disguise

My past is my best friend

The present despises me

Embrace the demented memories

Blind to what i should see

Masquerade in full swing

Pretending to feel

No emotions to bring

Nothing I show now is real

Locked away

The world far from me

I've accepted it

This is how things should be

In the dark is where I live and breathe
