The girl standing in front of me hides her face behind a mask.

She tries to convince me that she's ready for this task,

That she can do this.

But there's no way that right now she can fill this void.

Not with pain or with tears,

Or this girl with that boy.

She can fake it and make it for his sake believable

Even though love right now is inconceivable.

No matter how much she wants it or how much she needs it

There's no way that she'll be able to keep it

Because the love given to her is unrequited

And will continue to be if she continues to fight it.

She wants to love him,

But feels she should leave him.

She doesn't want to hurt him,

And has an addiction to pleasing him.

It's a catch 22

Can't figure out what to do.

She doesn't know what she wants and is left without a clue.

He's floating on cloud nine as she hangs just below.

Falling like the rain into a place she doesn't know.

She's unsure if she's just scared to feel

And even if what she's feeling is real.

The only one that can help her now is fateful Father Time.

And as Mother Nature takes her course,

She must learn to make up her mind.
