The Truth of the Matter

Poetry By: SSNG

This is a little poetic blurb that came to me in a moment of weakness. These words come from the view that my eyes were seeing at that very moment.

In a haze I glance around,

the grim world before me.

All I see is despair,

and too much commonality.

Once upon a time, life might have been cherry.

But, that was long ago.

We all might have been angels.

A true gift from God.

Now, we are devils with darkness lying in our hearts and souls.

Can you see the disgrace that we have become?

Maybe it is just I that feels this way.

No matter the case,

we are too disconnected from reality.

Society has quieted our minds.

So much so,

that I don't know anything anymore.

In my tiresome state,

all I want is peace.

But, peace won't come to me

and my troubled soul.

In the end, I am alone.

Loneliness abound.
