The Last Seconds

By: Hanna Compiano

(Inspired by Cornelius Eady)

At the last second

Before I'm gone

I want a chip of what I've never had

I want a piece of the unknown

I want a taste of everything

At the last second

Before I'm gone

I want riches

I want mediocrity

I want poverty

At the last second

Before I'm gone

I want blue eyes

I want brown eyes

I want green eyes

At the last second before I'm gone

I want to walk on the Great Wall

I want to climb Mount Everest

or maybe just that tree in my backyard

At the last second

Before I'm gone

I want everything,

nothing,

And all of the unknown.
