Anywhere Else:

With eyes like saucers

And a heart like a grave

I lay in my coffin

Alone and awake

Praying for freedom

Begging for help

Wishing that I was

Anywhere else.

-

My senses overload

My thoughts race

My heart yearns

For a tranquil place.

Or to switch lives

From this quiet Hell

To have the chance to be

Anyone else.

-

I'm sure there is somewhere

Where I can be free

To escape from the things

That suffocate me.

Where time has no meaning

Where thought isn't cheap

Where troubles dissolve

In my dreamless sleep.

-

Where I'm not constrained

By constraints that aren't real

And all that's important

Are the things that I feel.

No more despair

A World free from hurt

A World where I feel I get

What I deserve.

-

And I fully expect

That this place I belong

Is going to be the next

Place that I go to

When I move on.

-

So maybe there I'll find peace with myself.

But I thought that when I was everywhere else.
