Pretty Things

Don't put to much importance into material things... in life just as in death all things fade and wither.

*CLOSED CAPTION* (FEAR the hearing impaired) Believe it when I say - nothing is what it seems You gather and you believe - life is in these pretty things But what if you fall down - fall down and break your crown Spit out your pretty teeth - spill your blood on your royal gown Now as everything's ripped way You'll start seeing things my way You'll start tasting the beggers bread Start seeing the ugly truth instead But you cannot seem to spit it out - the grains are in your mouth Take a drink and soon find out - you aren't doing without But you can't seem to find - where it is that you went wrong Stop and try to turn around - but it was the wrong way all along Now as everything is ripped away Priorities aren't quite the same Your shelter's been ripped away And it's left you hardly sane Laying in the dark alone You pray for sleep but none will come Wishing the night was gone Realize how week you'd been all along You lay there on broken wings your sanity will never mend It seems without your pretty things This could be your end HOW YOU LOVE YOUR PRETTY THINGS!! YOU KEEP THEM LOCKED UP TIGHT TIGHTER THAN YOU KEEP YOUR HEART UNUSED AND OUT OF SIGHT
