Keep your mind busy with other things

to pass the winter time clear into spring

When its getting colder outside from hour to hour

just throw another log on a summers fire

just throw another log on a summers fire.

When life seems to want to pass you up

drink the fruit of the vine from another cup

When the snow gets higher from minute to minute

just see the sparkle of your eyes within it

just see the sparkle of your eyes within it.

So don't you get down and don't you feel blue

for the winter time will soon be through

A river frozen over with solid ice

will soon thaw out just like your life

will soon thaw out just like your life.

They left you in the middle of loves embrace

without seeing the love written on your face

When the chill wind blows from second to second

hear the call of another love that will beckon

hear the call of another love that will beckon.

Throw that old bad fish back in the ocean

and when and if you get the notion

They'll be a new fish from time to time

till the right one dries those tears you're crying

till the right one dries those tears you're crying.

So don't you get down and don't you feel blue

for the winter time will soon be through

A river frozen over with solid ice

will soon thaw out just like your life

will soon thaw out just like your life.
