Be Looking Down On Me

Smile a little smile,

laugh a little laugh.

Read your letters for awhile,

then I put them back.

~

With a tear in my eye,

they're here for me.

Why'd you have to die,

and then leave me be.

~

The doc said you wasn't well,

that you had a bad heart.

Good as gold I do tell,

but on that day it wouldn't start.

So you're gonna get your wings,

and an angel to be.

I have to say a few things,

be looking down on me.

~

Cry a little cry,

ache a little ache.

At your grave for awhile,

then I kneel and pray.

~

I know that you're not there,

you're with the Lord.

I know it isn't fair,

I never knew what for.

~

The doc said you wasn't well,

that you had a bad heart.

Good as gold I do tell,

but on that day it wouldn't start.

So you're gonna get your wings,

and an angel to be.

I have to say a few things,

be looking down on me.

~

Be looking down on me,

be looking down on me.

Be looking down on me,

while I'm praying, please.
