This rope that I've went and hung my self with
is wearing paper thin but it use to have a little width
Now I'm hanging on for dear life at the end of this string
praying let me down gently for I'm holding on to my dream.
Let me down gently for I'm holding on to my dream
don't let me fall hard or you'll hear me when I scream
your name as I cry it out loud at the end of the scene
praying let me down gently for I'm holding on to my dream.
Holding on to this dream for it's all I have left
Holding on to this dream for it was the best
Holding on to this dream though it may not be right
I'm holding on to this dream with all of my might.
I'm hanging on by a prayer this song and my dream
for a nightmare is coming and will it be to late to see
that when I do drop you'll drop away from me
so let me down gently for I'm holding on to my dream.
My dreams of you baby and your sweet dreams of me
of living together near the ocean that's down by the sea
but we'll drift away on the day that you set me free
so let me down gently for I'm holding on to my dream.
Holding on to this dream for it's all I have left
Holding on to this dream for it was the best
Holding on to this dream though it may not be right
I'm holding on to this dream with all of my might.
