I Cried The Night

I cried the night that my true love died

You'd of thought it was pouring down rain

For never ever in my life

Had I felt so great a loss and pain

They passed from this world way to early

While still asleep in their bed

On a cold and rainy morning

To heaven they went on ahead

And then dark clouds covered the ocean

Dark clouds they covered me

Dark clouds took my true love away

I hope that someday I'll see them

If ever again that we meet

Oh they had the prettiest set of eyes

That ever set eyes upon me

They were my only sunshine

They could brighten the darkest of nights

But when they upped and went away
