I know that I'll never be your daddy,
to replace the one you lost.
I know right now you're not happy,
that your life is like a salad that's been tossed.
No one can replace our fathers or our mothers,
nor even our sisters or our brothers.
We all have missing pieces that need filling in our hearts,
but we often have no idea who will be those parts.
Just to be your friend if not your father,
let's all take a trip to the zoo.
No, that won't be to me a bother,
for you see, I lost my father too.
I know that I'll never have right answers,
to all your questions and that's bad.
I know right now that the cancer's,
took his life just like your broken heart that's sad.
I'm here to fill a missing piece in the puzzle,
that your mother needed in her heart.
I'm not saying that there won't be times of trouble,
but together when can all work out that part.
Just to be your friend if not your father,
let's all take a trip to the zoo.
No, that won't be to me a bother,
for you see, I lost my father too.
