I met a woman and she had my rib
I found that without her I could not live
So I took her and loved her and made her my wife
Now if she ever leaves me she'll take apart of my life
She's the other half of it that I can never be
The mother of our children that she did conceive
Yes, I met a woman and she had my rib
I found that without her I could not live
It was for this reason I left my father and mother
To cleave to this woman and to no other
So I took her and loved her and made her my wife
Flesh of my flesh and life of my life
Only death could separate what God has brought together
But until then my love for her is always and forever
She's the apple of my eye and I'll love her as long as I live
For I met a woman and she had my rib
