Inside and Outside the Dark and the Light

Outside, the sun was shining bright

Inside, the dark was a blinding sight

Outside, the birds were singing songs

Inside, the silence was ringing wrongs

Outside, the warm breezes were blowing

Inside, the cold air was showing

Outside, the grass swayed in the field

Inside, the rocks stayed hard as steel

Outside, the flowers were visited by bees

Inside, only loneliness gave one the creeps

Outside, life flourished oh so bravely

Inside, death languished oh so gravely

Why, the Lord came to lead us all out

Why, the Lord came to seal the devil in

That's what Heaven's light's all about

While the Earth's dark with sin

Know light in the darkness

No darkness in the light

More one knows the sharpness

Less one knows the night

Outside, Jesus reaches in to save

Inside, Satan leaches out to rave

Outside, the cave there is salvation

Inside, the cave there is damnation

Outside, where we had started from

Inside, where we finished our run

Outside, where we long to be

Inside, where we are never free

Outside, awaits our families and friends

Inside, our lives about to end

Outside, the savior with light in hand

Inside, the demon who will never understand

Why, the Lord came to lead us all out...
