We can't all get them right
but we can all get them wrong
and cover up with them
then sing our sad song.
We can hide them in shadows
for they grow fast in the dusk
then they turn to jump
and they quickly eat us.
Big old lies eats us alive
and little lies do well
For both of them will drive
us all straight to hell.
How do other people find them
when we hide them in the dark
Does a friend tell on us
is there some kind of mark.
Do they show up like freckles
or a new tattoo on our skin
We thought we had them buried
but they are running around again.
Big old lies eats us alive
and little lies do well
For both of them will drive
us all straight to hell.
We can't all get them right
but we can all get them wrong
and cover up with them
then sing our sad song.
