I was to young to remember

the good kind of Decembers

when the kids all went down hills

on sleds with their fellas

while the girls held umbrellas

pulled in little red wagons for thrills.

~

Just think we were the last

back yards were a blast

when the adults all did come over

with blankets for their picnics

while pop played his hits

and we all rolled in the clover.

~

Yeah all the good old days

are now clouded in haze

and just like the rain they're gone

they all went right down the drain

never coming back here again

searching for a place to call home.

~

Cell phones took away our freedoms

and the computers too

and when families decide to come together

bringing I pads and I pods

can't even even the odds

because conversation left with the good weather.

~

The ones that listen to radios

in case there's bad news

and when storms decide to cause pain

with tornadoes and deep snow

who listens to their show

while standing out there in the rain.

~

Yeah all the good old days

are now clouded in haze

and just like the rain they're gone

they all went right down the drain

never coming back here again

searching for a place to call home.
