Surely there's a better way for us to get around
than walking now for it's about to get me down
Why there once was a long time ago
but not anymore now they're just for show
Maybe some day I'll take you to see them
because the last ones made are in a museum
A few parts or pieces we'll be lucky to find
for they were called automobiles back in their time
When the price of fuel took an entire pay check
planes trains and automobiles were soon found wrecked
The fuel companies found that they weren't to bright
for they almost went broke almost over night
Now we walk or ride horses like in the old days
while the oil barons are on farms selling their hay
That's why we live off of the land out here in the wood
say is that there an old rusty hood
They're worth some money so we'll put it on our sled
and put it with that engine we've got back in the shed
Tomorrow we'll take them to old man Ford
he'll melt them down to make me a new sword
And I'll take my parts over to old man Chevy
he'll make me a lite shield for I don't want it heavy
Perhaps I might even go see old man Chrysler
because my battered old helmet needs a new visor
Can we take our rest over there in that lodge
It's the one owned by that old man Dodge
Yes I suppose that we should since it's a Sunday
wait isn't that a door from an old Hyundai
Hurry up and come on because it's about to snow
and it's not worth a penny it's from an old Yugo
Surely there's a better way for us to get around
than walking now for it's about to get me down
Why there once was a long time ago
but not anymore now they're just for show
Maybe some day I'll take you to see them
because the last ones made are in a museum
