That's What One Gets For Believing

Whoever said that falling stars were pretty,

they couldn't have been so witty,

because they just wasn't there,

to see my star fall from the sky.

When she fell I felt the hurt,

when we both hit the dirt,

because no one was there,

to try to save us and we died.

That's what one gets for believing,

the Devil's lies that are so deceiving.

Is there anyone on their knees,

praying that we'll be coming back.

Once we were hanging up there high,

above the clouds in our sky,

because we were both there,

I was her groom, she was my bride.

Then the blue moon got between us,

sent me to Mars, her to Venus,

because the Devil was there,

pulling both of us apart because he lied.

That's what one gets for believing,

the Devil's lies that are so deceiving.

Is there anyone on their knees,

praying that we'll be coming back.
