The angels have been crying a lot here lately

for we've been getting a lot of rain

The puddles and ponds sure are shapely

yard work has been almost in vain.

Dashing in and out of their teardrops

dab a little here and wipe a little there

Tornadoes dance and do flip flops

and there's water, water every where.

Umbrellas are mini tents on the sidewalks

and newspapers are running with the gossip

The wind is blowing we'll have to doubletalk

and the street is wet but we'll have to cross it.

The daytime is like the night time here

for the dark clouds drift over head

A real bad storm is getting near

there's a lot of deep water in the water shed.

Rains been pouring down almost every day

and waters standing every where

even to the tops of our graves

but the dead don't seem to care.

Umbrellas are mini tents on the sidewalks

and newspapers are running with the gossip

The wind is blowing we'll have to doubletalk

and the street is wet but we'll have to cross it.

The angels have been crying a lot here lately

for we've been getting a lot of rain

The puddles and ponds sure are shapely

yard work has been almost in vain.

Dashing in and out of their teardrops

dab a little here and wipe a little there

Tornadoes dance and do flip flops

and there's water, water every where.

Umbrellas are mini tents on the sidewalks

and newspapers are running with the gossip

The wind is blowing we'll have to doubletalk

and the street is wet but we'll have to cross it.
