The sand in your hand
that's shaped like a heart
there ain't no rubber band
so it will soon come apart
as it sifts through your fingers
to the beach down below
Then you'll never know
maybe it was for the best
for it will never show
blending in with the rest
as it sifts through your fingers
to the beach down below
The water from the sea
that's lapping at the shore
it just wasn't meant to be
nothings left there any more
as it sifts through your fingers
to the beach down below
Then you'll never know
maybe it was for the best
for it will never show
blending in with the rest
as it sifts through your fingers
to the beach down below
The tears in your eyes
that's falling down your cheek
turning daytime in to night
for a love so bitter sweet
as it sifts through your fingers
to the beach down below
Then you'll never know
maybe it was for the best
for it will never show
blending in with the rest
as it sifts through your fingers
to the beach down below
