When everything is all said and done
And we're sitting around like statues of stone
Why can't we play like we use to hun
They won't let us at the old folks home
No, they won't let us at the old folks home.
Every beginning has to have an end
Another loved one has slipped around the bend
Did they take the wrong road, or did they take the right
Into eternal sunshine, or into eternal night.
When we first started out, there were a lot of us
Now we are down to just a few
I remember when we could fill a bus
Now all we need is a Subaru.
Half brothers left us one by one
Dad went next, followed by mom
And the youngest brother, he went too
Then our only half sister, she followed suite.
As for our other sister, she's not at home
The ones who are left here, are left alone
Wondering how the years were clipped away
Like the hair on our heads that has turned to gray.
Every beginning is said to have an end
Another loved one has slipped around the bend
Did they take the wrong road or did they take the right
Into eternal sunshine or into eternal night.
When everything is all said and done
And we're sitting around like statues of stone
Why can't we play like we use to hun
They won't let us at the old folks home
No, they won't let us at the old folks home.
