We can't bring back yesterday
when things were going swell
We have to make it through today
if it was a day of hell
Tomorrow may be a better one
I really and rightly don't know
But if Heaven's on the horizon
then it will surely show.
You thought that they'd live forever
they thought that they would too
As your placing flowers on their grave
it's all that you can do
Holding back tears as you say a prayer
memories come floating gently on the air
As you remember their love oh so dear
you feel a tingling touch as if they are near.
Somewhere out there a zillion miles away
yesteryear is sailing just past the Milky Way
Today is dawning with the rising of the sun
tomorrow will arrive when the night is done.
Out in the back yard with mom and dad
having the best time that we've ever had
Brothers and sisters playing side by side
having laughed so hard that we all cried.
Grandpa passed on then an uncle and aunt
please Lord, nobody else, no they just can't
Dad left us just the other day so very sad
and mom's in the hospital feeling real bad.
Somewhere out there a zillion miles away
yesteryear is sailing just past the Milky Way
Today is dawning with the rising of the sun
tomorrow will arrive when the night is done.
We can't bring back yesterday
when things were going swell
We have to make it through today
if it was a day of hell
Tomorrow may be a better one
I really and rightly don't know
But if Heaven's on the horizon
then it will surely show.
You thought that they'd live forever
they thought that they would too
As your placing flowers on their grave
it's all that you can do
Holding back tears as you say a prayer
memories come floating gently on the air
As you remember their love oh so dear
you feel a tingling touch as if they are near.
Somewhere out there a zillion miles away
yesteryear is sailing just past the Milky Way
Today is dawning with the rising of the sun
tomorrow will arrive when the night is done.
