If you burn the bridges we'll have to cross some day
and put up hurdles in every ones way.
You're going to drown when you jump back at the edge
knowing that you burned that bridge when you fell off the ledge.
You took this dive and polluted the ocean
covered all over in your body lotion.
Now along with your body as well as your trash
is this the fish that you wanted us to catch.
You didn't think before you jumped
and you leaped before you thought.
Now who's left to clean up the junk
of all the wrong doings you've wrought.
Someone will have to build new bridges that day
and take away the hurdles that block our way.
So we don't go down when we get to the edge
knowing there's a bridge when we get to the ledge.
You could have, should have and would have you say
but you couldn't, shouldn't and wouldn't on this day.
Now as we pull your lifeless body to shore
what's left to be done if there is anymore.
You didn't think before you jumped
and you leaped before you thought.
Now who's left to clean up the junk
of all the wrong doings you've wrought.
