You may not want what I want
You've got a mind of your own
I may say yes when you won't
You may want to go it alone.
But I've got no where else to go
and you've got no place else to be
No, I've got nothing else to show
and you've got nothing else to see.
That's the way that life goes
North and south like the birds and the bees
While I'm here shoveling the snow
You're sunning in a summer breeze.
I want to settle down and you want to be free
My mind is made up but it's made up by me
My heart may be right and my love may be true
But my minds still a mess from your point of view.
No, you may not want what I want
for you've got a mind of your own
and I may say yes when you won't
cause you may want to go it alone.
But I've got no where else to go
and you've got no place else to be
No, I've got nothing else to show
and you've got nothing else to see.
