You are not by any means the prettiest man I ever saw,
Nor are you kind faced.
No flattering words fall from your lips,
no gentle hands have you.
Yet you cry just as I cry. You feel just as I feel.
No difference between us when alone, human,
that’s what you are.
So what am I?
Who said I could judge? Who said you did not have
gentle hands, was it me?
Did I not look deep enough to see your smile, did I miss
it whilst looking at your scars?
Did I not hear your impassioned plea?
I am sorry, perhaps I am the one not kind.
Perhaps I did not share with you a smile nor a kind word.
My cruel barbs mocked Gods creation. No gentle hand of friendship
Did I offer as you fell.
I am the ugly one my friend, may God forgive
My ignorance.
