Hide n' Seek
I darted through the trees, branches
Cutting into my arms and face
My mind screams "Hide!" like a
Burglar being chased by the police
I squeeze into a cramped space,
Invisible to the human eye
My lips mash together with undying
Force desperately trying to possess a
Breathless line as my limbs succumb
To stone clutching to my sides
Time froze for but a moment, then
Someone hit the fast-forward button
The panic level went up and the seeker
Scanned the horizon, sniffing the air
For the right scent. My eyes track an
Escape causing feet to take off
I giggle feeling as if I own the world;
The pieces of earth my bare skin
touches tenderly with love
I bustled up the steep, rocky
slope to embrace my escape pod;
the gaping hole swallowed my body
down its throat into a catacomb of
safety. But it is too late! The seeker
has discovered the hiding spot and
brought his pack of slaves with him
Alas! The game has ended and I
am forced to return to the land of
life. I stretch my legs like a ballerina
and my arms like a wrestler pushing
weights at the gym. The pack return
to free children wondering aghast at
how I stayed hidden and I educate
them on my methods like a convict
would other criminals with strong
passion.
