Joshua Caleb
by Susan H Fouts
A special son, a growing boy
With so much left to learn.
I know you wish you were all grown up
So money you could earn.
You were named after someone great
Who fought many battles,
And men of faith who stood the test,
Whose enemy cages they rattled.
They cleansed the land
And purged the camps of wickedness and such,
Inherited the land and fought the fight
And settled in God's plan.
I am so glad that you were born
And I'm glad to be your mother.
I don't mean to crowd you so
I don't mean to smother
The teenage years can be so hard
Especially with peer pressure,
But I believe you'll listen to God
And He'll bless you above all measure.
So Happy Birthday to a son
Who is thoughtful and so sweet
I hope you have a special one
With lots of good food to eat.
