  Mother, you have been to me

a source of inspiration.

Through all the years

And through the tears

You've had my admiration.

An answer you have had for me

Through every fiery trial.

When I was sad,

You'd speak a word

that would always made me smile.

You've made me laugh

through stories told

as I'd recall the times,

and bring me back to youthful thoughts

through reasons and through  rhymes.

So this your day, I lift my heart

to embrace your heart with mine

And should a cloud block out the sun,

I pray that for you it would shine
