"Hockey Mom"

To all the parents, grandparents, and others out there who support the children in their lives, through all their aspirations...
This is not intended to be a poetic work of art. Written for fun, because of some of the things I have seen not only as a "hockey mom," but also while supporting my children through many endeavors. Sometimes, parents forget these are just kids, and we need to praise the effort as much as the outcome. When parents become out of control, it teaches every child a negative lesson.

What is this term I have heard?
Is it's meaning more than what is observed?
To one who knows this as their name,
It is worn as endearment not as shame.
It does not mean being out of control,
Or defaming those opposing your goal.
It is worn as a sign of support for their child,
For the team who plays with heart and desire.
Therefore, whatever sport, club, or team your child belongs,
Wear your name proud, and praise their song.
But as you do be aware,
There are other "Moms" just like you,
Who support their child's efforts too.
