Remembering choices we made and thinking about what if we made a different choice?

Throwing back the shot glasses faster than the NHRA time trials

Thinking I can numb my feelings into a false sense of security

A step away from the white picket fence and the whole nine yards

You said you weren't looking for a long term commitment

Settling down wasn't on your mind

I don't know when or what changed your mind

I clearly remember the times you had that yard stick out

Measuring nine and looking at white colored paint to touch up that picket fence

Maybe I got caught up in your fractured fairytale or your version of one of Aesop's fables

I had no choice but to jump off your bandwagon and watch you toot your own horn

This stuff I'm throwing down, taste like rocket fuel

Hopefully that will help me blow right by the heartbreak I'm headed for

I wonder how a blue picket fence looks?
