BETRAYED
Come hither, shining, the emissary of love and peace
Embrace my weary heart before its beats do cease
Permeating pain, the heart so battered and worn
Ripped and tattered, earning contempt and scorn
Bruised and shattered, an abode for grief and pain
Enraptured by sweet beauty, but one so vain
Dressed in the garb of love, but poison inside
Laying bare my heart, in her I did confide
Intoxicated with her passion, blinded by desire
Dazzling my eyes, setting my heart on fire
She toyed with it and then tossed it away
Saying Love and empathy were not her way
Deriding love, she tore my heart into two
Reality hard to absorb, but it was true
So come hither, heal my heart and mind
Oh caucus of tranquility and love so hard to find
