Sense of Man

Poetry By: teargen

Through our senses we appreciate and enjoy the world around us, and within us.

Sometimes all I feel like doing is to

dream of coral reefs, determine the category

of roses, attune my ear to my tabby's

evocative purr, pick blackberries at dawn

as fog shrouds white fences,

explore caves while crickets bicker,

lean on a rainbow,

float to earth like a whirling

summer seed,

join hands with Orion and

assist him with his bow,

breathe country-fresh vapors

from an English arboretum,

bend like a willow until delicate moss

moistens my hand, listen to echoes in

canyons, or apprehend the water's roaring

rush from childhood's ravine, taste that sweet

honeybee nectar, savor jalapeno pepper

burning, burning, burning into the night;

sometimes all I do...like feeling.
