You are my treasured boy,
She said, the joy
Of my heart;

The part
That is my soul,
The whole

Point of being
And seeing
The sight of you

Each day if for a few
Hours or moment's touch.
You are my all too much;

The darling, the only one;
My kiss and tell; my fun
And life, my breath

And breathe,
If you leave,
You are my death.

Thank you,poet3, I am always delighted when a person ( a fellow human being) read and comments on a poem or story. I feel like the man on an island whose message in a bottle has been found and reda and returned to him.

this one is VERY enjoyable to read Terry *

This poem is one of my favourites (although like children one ought to have favourites)and I appreciate you reading and commenting.

I felt a reverse oedipus complex undercurrent in this....or was that my cracked and jaded imagination.....goes to show u though how these poetic artifacts can work on so many levels...unintentionally sometimes...n'cest pas?
