Tin Foil Heart

Poetry By: Tesseth

Some people have hearts of tin. As fragile as they are, they keep handing them out. Sometimes I think they're in love with the drama/pain as much as or more than the actual human being.

Your tin foil heart
Waking to a fragile beat
Skipping irregular
To your low self esteem

Wistful eyes flutter
Lips give a little pout
(That's the look on your face
When you hand your heart out)

Naïve sweet eyes
Closed up too tight
Waiting for someone else
To make you feel right

Your tin foil heart
Crushed into a ball
Tossed into the air
Smashed when it falls

Tears welling up
In those confused little eyes
Wondering what happened
To that "wonderful guy"

Your tin foil heart
Tender & weak
Handed over to those
With the razor blade teeth

Eyes of an innocent
Tin foil heart delicate
Too eager for love
And all the pain that comes with it.
