Rounded globe of silver luminance
Floating in the night-clad middle sky
By your thin wavy light my pen highlights
Blanketing us in your shimmer like hue
In triumph you shine gracefully
Through cloudy squadrons set to dim your aura
Blinking in homage to adolescent clouds
Rushing in mock mime to beckoning adulthood
Whispering through time’s windy gap
You give sight to my flowing pen’s path
As I trace the route of your steady crawl
Across the length of this November sky
In saddening suddenness, you are lost
To wooly whorls who sneaked to choke you
In the tightness of their dark embrace
Harbingers of the sweet cacophony of dreamy night rain
This hastens my trip to the cozy comfort of sleepy isle
Where day time fantasies stalks the aisle
Arising earlier than the punctual cockcrow
I behold the constellations of your farewell
Sparkling where you’d shone brightly ‘fore.
