The Christmas tree, all decorated with lights
To represent the holiest of a nights.
There he stands in the storm
Snow falling around him forlorn.
Onward he looks up to the sky,
Thinking to himself he asks, Why?
The man is in tatters his back to the cold
Hunched and gray he appears old.
A noise to his right attracts his attention
And immediately be releases his tension.
The sound came from a family
Each talking to one another happily.
The man looks on with a fierce yearning
For the family he lost along with his earnings.
The frost hangs from his face.
As the man moves on to another place.
He feels empty and sad, always alone,
Never has he stopped thinking of his true home.
He finds some shelter though not the best,
And he closes his eyes to an eternity of rest.
