In a room with no doors lies my soul

In a room with no doors
you can find my soul.
In a prison with no guards
you can see me wander.
Alone, I'm always alone
yet surrounded by shadows.
The demons of the dark
they taunt me, trap me.
I'm in a torture, that never ends.
And I have no reason to leave.
For outside those walls
is a world I don't know.
Outside this jail cell is a
place where I'm an outsider.
I feel there is no one who
can comfort me now.
I fear that I am alone,
eternally alone with myself.
And yet something stirs,
inside my lifeless heart.
Hope, there is hope, yes,
that someone still searches.
For me, not possibly. Could
it be? Someone is looking?
But I am gone, I know that
by now, I cannot be saved.
But you, you are the one
who is on an impossible quest.
To free me is to kill me. Why,
why can no one see that.
And yet, if you still wish I
suppose I could give you a clue.
In a room with no doors,
you can find my soul.
