A long dark beach with pen in hand
Sitting for hours staring at the sand.
The waves crash on the distant shore
And the sea breeze chills me to the core.
The sun has set and the dark night falls
I sit abandoned even by all the seagulls.
I sit in darkness on my own.
No one to hear my cries and moans.
The stars disappear and the night is cold.
And all I want is a hand to hold.
Someone to come and hold me dear
Praying a friend will find me here.
But not a friend do I possess.
A secret of life I must confess.
Every step I'm all alone.
A true friend I've never known.
Is it too much to ask for someone to care?
To hope that one day someone would be there?
Bu in the darkness there's no warmth to be shared.
And all that remains is the crisp, cool air.
With no one around to hear my cries
Even if I called for help, no one would try.
Life has lost all meaning and hope.
But hope remains I'd be hanged with a rope.
Truly my life is all a lie.
Filled with secrets that I wish to die.
To get away from this mess called life
And rid myself of all this strife.
When all I want is a hand to hold
How can this world be so cold?
When all I want is someone next to me
Why do people care about 'I' more than 'we?'
