To who you were and always will be

You were once a devil

With an angel trapped inside

Misconceived and forever branded

Black sheep, they all shunned you

We only destroy what we don't understand

And I fell among those lot

Laughs and stares and evil glances

They soon enough cast you away

It's what this small town always does

Forget you right from that last day

No one saw the battered insides

The broken soul screaming help

No one cared for the tired eyes

All they saw was trouble

You kept a reputation about you

Though many already forgot who you were

You blended to the background

No longer the forefront fool

But then your world turned upside down

A silly girl was all it took

She held you up and gave you the time of day

Hey buddy, look where it all took

A life more beautiful is in your hands

Happiness comes to heal your wounds

Your once constant pain is at an end

For this little girl understood
