The sun 'rose upon my life,
and luck became my friend.
Where once the scars of a knife,
could've been my end.

A smile now adorns my face,
and happiness enters my heart,
where there was an empty place,
and my love torn apart.

You've helped put back what I have lost,
with my joy and trust in mankind.
My feelings that, at once were tossed,
are taken to heart and mind.

You've given me reason to remember,
how a real love can feel,
untouchable like a burning ember,
and unbreakable like solid steel.

As each day comes to a close,
