Path of a Pirate
A flame flickers,
upon the candles wick,
a bone chilling breeze,
flows beneath the door.
The fog rolls in,
over the meadow,
moonlight dims,
behind the darkened clouds.
Lonely dirt path,
not a person in sight,
Town stands burning,
bloody, hollow, dark.
Burnt wood on the dock,
crumbles beneath the feet,
waves crash on the shore,
washing away evidence.
Floating on the sea,
sails an unknown ship,
seeking the next harbor to raid,
the path of the pirate, this be.
