There's a crack in her smile as she stares in his eyes
A short-lived pause overflowing with lies
The decayed truth heavy on her lips
With each look into his eye, into a deeper guilt she slips
The scent of her perfume lingers in the air
Invisible tears drown her, as into his eyes she stares
Her hands are shaking as she writes the letter she'll never send
As she looks in his eyes she knows she can no longer pretend...
She left him alone with perfume and a broken promise
His dreams are now nightmares and pain where once was bliss
The memories he kept are slowly slipping from him grip
The second hand unwound and all the dreams start to slip
Now a taunting image and her name are his eternal tease
Because all she left him with was perfume and a broken promise
