Do you still remember me?
The little girl whom you left a long time ago.
The one who was meant to be the sunlight in your day.
The child who should’ve been your pride and joy.
It’s been years since I last saw your face.
It’s like you’ve disappeared without a trace
Daddy where were you when I needed you?
I remember it as clear as daylight.
Watching other little girls play in the parks and beaches with their dads.
Dads fetching their daughters from school.
I had Grandpa, he was my world.
He did his very best, taught me to write my name on the back of a cardboard box.
He took me to the beach, cooked me my favourite meals and fetched me from school.
Daddy but where were you?
I’m all grown up now
Adult hood is tough
Wish you could see how much I’ve achieved.
God has been good
He’s carried me through
Dad please don’t forget me that’s all that I ask.
I still need you and wish you were here.
