You are my idol
You cute, cuddly critter
You big poofy ball of fur
Mr. Tuxedo cat
Mr. Ladies man
You are my kitty-cat
You are my wingman
You are there for me when I cry
To take my mind off painful matters
By demanding that I pet you
You attention whore
You are my kitty-cat
You are my bodyguard
You sleep on my chair while I sleep
Making sure that nothing comes to bother me
And so that you can wake me up
when you want to be petted
You attention whore
You are my kitty-cat
You are my shadow
You follow me all through the house
You make sure that I am not getting into trouble
You little hawk
You are my kitty-cat
You are my friend
You give me something to do
Because I have to take care of you
You gave me a reason to live
Those times when I was depressed
Those times when I wanted to jump off a tall building
Or let that train carry me away
I thought of leaving you behind
I thought of you sitting there in the house at night
All alone, meowing and whining and crying
Because Ben wouldn't be there to take care of you
And as I sit here writing this
You lay on my chair behind me
Forcing my butt all the way to the edge of the seat
But allowing me to lean back over you like a blanket
And I can feel your warmth pressed into my back
And I can feel your slow, gentle, even breathing
That tells me that you are asleep
And as I gently ruffle the fur on your head
And smooth it back out, I know that
You are my kitty-cat
