It can be fast and quick,

Like the snap of a stick,

You can make it rhyme,

Just about every time.

The Art of Poetry,

Can be ever so funny and clever,

Or bright and beautiful like a peacock's feather,

Yet it can turn cold and lonesome,

And get altogether quite gruesome.

The Art of Poetry,

Can be done by anyone,

Whether it be your daughter or son,

It's been about for years,

Brought many to tears.

The Art of Poetry,

Can inspire and move,

For any emotion it can soothe,

It is a simple thing,

May it live long like a king.
