A few metaphors or similies for a very real reality. I think anyway.

Walking, stumbling,

through dysfunction and decay.

Looking through blind eyes,

to see the shine of another day.

Buildings crumbling,

orphaned children crying

for a long dead sibling,

open man holes,

used to cremate dead citizens,

the fires flare because of the residue of fat,

boiling off of governors and business men.

Some live in shock from disbelief,

While others scream for rebellion,

everyone suspicious,

of what any other person is selling.

And still some are ambitous,

to following a hellion.

Disillusioned women,

feeding on the death of their husbands,

the meaning of the word

is written in it's spelling.

As children play with toys,

made from human bones,

malice laughs in joy,

for this is the place

where war calls home.
