Golden curls,
Bright, ever-changing eyes-
You know she’s her daddy’s little girl,
Especially when you see her smile.
That mischievous grin
While she steals from the cookie jar-
Just like her Mamma, she’s got the drive to win,
And when they all go fishing, she’s the good luck charm.
A million questions, she’s got to ask why:
“Daddy, how do the fireflies burn so bright?”
She’ll reach for the sky, she wants to fly,
And proclaims, “Someday I might!”
Her Mamma loves her with all her heart,
And Daddy’s been right beside them from the start.
I wake up, open my eyes
As I sigh and realize
That it was a dream.
I know what this one means,
And there’s no reason to mope
Because I know her name is Hope.
